Pension Scheme<br />
The Voluntary <strong>Hospital</strong>s Superannuation Scheme (VHSS) is the public<br />
service pension scheme in operation in the <strong>Hospital</strong> and it provides a<br />
wide range of benefits <strong>to</strong> its members. Details in relation <strong>to</strong> the<br />
benefits of the scheme are available from the <strong>Hospital</strong>’s Intranet or by<br />
contacting the Benefits Section at pensions@svuh.ie.<br />
Non-Pay Benefits<br />
Non-pay benefits are advantages, which Employees can gain from<br />
employment in the <strong>Hospital</strong>. The following are some non-pay benefits<br />
available <strong>to</strong> Employees. More information regarding non-pay benefits<br />
are available at the Corporate Induction programme.<br />
Catering Facilities: Subsidised catering facilities are provided for<br />
Employees on the <strong>Hospital</strong> campus. The staff cafeteria is located on<br />
the Ground Floor of the main <strong>Hospital</strong> Building and is open Monday <strong>to</strong><br />
Sunday.<br />
Pharmacy: Employees may purchase discounted medication from<br />
the Pharmacy on production of a prescription. This service is limited <strong>to</strong><br />
staff, and Employees must produce their staff ID before prescriptions<br />
are dispensed. Please note that prescriptions are not dispensed on<br />
demand. They should be left in the Pharmacy Post Box, which is<br />
located outside of the Pharmacy Department by 11.30 a.m. and<br />
collected after 3.30 p.m.<br />
The Pharmacy does not dispense GMS prescriptions or provide service<br />
under the Drug Payment Subsidisation Scheme (DPSS). Employees who<br />
qualify for these schemes should use their local community Pharmacy.<br />
Further details can be obtained from the Pharmacy Department or on<br />
the <strong>Hospital</strong>’s Intranet.<br />
