If you feel that you are being bullied/harassed you may approach the<br />

person concerned or have a Head of Service / Line Manager<br />

approach them on your behalf. You may also wish <strong>to</strong> speak <strong>to</strong> one of<br />

our trained Support Contact People who are there <strong>to</strong> outline the<br />

options open <strong>to</strong> you, explain the procedure for dealing with<br />

allegations of bullying/harassment and <strong>to</strong> offer you support. A list of<br />

Support Contacts is available from the Human Resources Department<br />

and on the Intranet.<br />

Trust In Care<br />

The Trust In Care policy has been drawn up <strong>to</strong> ensure that the safety,<br />

welfare and dignity of patients are upheld at all times. The <strong>Hospital</strong><br />

has a duty of care <strong>to</strong> ensure that all patients are protected from any<br />

form of behaviour, which violates their dignity. The <strong>Hospital</strong> also has<br />

a duty <strong>to</strong> ensure that its Employees are provided with the necessary<br />

support, training, and supervision and in the case of spurious<br />

allegations, protection <strong>to</strong> enable them <strong>to</strong> deliver a high quality of<br />

service. The Trust in Care policy sets procedures in place <strong>to</strong> ensure that<br />

these objectives are met.<br />

The aim of the Trust in Care policy is <strong>to</strong> ensure prevention through<br />

an increased awareness and vigilance from all staff, a thorough<br />

recruitment and selection procedure, ongoing training and abidance<br />

with <strong>Hospital</strong> Code of Behaviour.<br />

Cus<strong>to</strong>mer Care<br />

The <strong>Hospital</strong> has defined our cus<strong>to</strong>mers as anyone who is in contact<br />

with us, whether they are Employees, in-patients, outpatients or<br />
