needs and <strong>to</strong> provide a quality service, we have developed<br />
Cus<strong>to</strong>mer Service <strong>St</strong>andards. These standards outline what is required<br />
<strong>to</strong> provide and deliver a quality cus<strong>to</strong>mer service, how <strong>to</strong> respond <strong>to</strong><br />
written communication and how <strong>to</strong> deal with complaints.<br />
Managing Attendance<br />
The <strong>Hospital</strong> aims <strong>to</strong> provide excellent care <strong>to</strong> its patients, as stated in<br />
the <strong>Hospital</strong> and Group mission. It is therefore important <strong>to</strong> have full<br />
attendance across the <strong>Hospital</strong> and <strong>Hospital</strong> Management will<br />
support Managers and Employees in achieving this goal. The <strong>Hospital</strong><br />
has put in place clear and precise sick leave procedures and offers<br />
an Occupational Health service <strong>to</strong> all Employees.<br />
The role of the Employee is <strong>to</strong> render regular and efficient service and<br />
<strong>to</strong> advise their Line Manager of any matter, which may affect their<br />
attendance at work.<br />
<strong>Hospital</strong> Employees may avail of a comprehensive sick pay scheme.<br />
However sick pay is conditional on Employees complying with the<br />
provisions of the sick leave scheme and cooperating with any<br />
measures <strong>to</strong> facilitate their return <strong>to</strong> work.<br />
Employee Leave Policies<br />
The <strong>Hospital</strong> operates a number of leave schemes. <strong>St</strong>atu<strong>to</strong>ry leave is<br />
granted in accordance with current legislation, and may be<br />
changed due <strong>to</strong> legislative amendments or the introduction of new<br />
legislation. Discretionary leave is a benefit applicable <strong>to</strong> Employees of<br />
