notified immediately of emergency calls.<br />
Personal mobile phones should be switched off when in attendance<br />
at work unless expressly permitted by your Line Manager for urgent<br />
exceptional reasons.<br />
Confidentiality: In the course of your employment you may have<br />
access <strong>to</strong>, or hear information concerning the medical or personal<br />
affairs of patients and / or staff, or other hospital business. Such<br />
records and information are strictly confidential and unless acting on<br />
the instruction of an authorised Manager, on no account must<br />
information concerning staff, patients and other hospital business be<br />
divulged or discussed except in the performance of normal duty. In<br />
addition confidential records and information must never be left in<br />
such a manner that unauthorised persons can obtain access <strong>to</strong> them<br />
and must be kept in safe cus<strong>to</strong>dy when no longer required.<br />
You shall not discuss or disclose any information of a confidential<br />
nature except in the proper course of your employment. These<br />
restrictions shall continue <strong>to</strong> apply after termination of this<br />
appointment.<br />
Employee Gifts or Gratuities: An Employee may not solicit or accept,<br />
directly or indirectly from any person, firm or association anything of<br />
economic value such as a gift, gratuity or favour which might<br />
reasonably be interpreted as being of such nature that it could affect<br />
his / her impartiality in dealing with the donor. Please refer <strong>to</strong> the<br />
Employee Gifts and Gratuities policy on the Intranet for further details.<br />
Please note that any breaches in the Employee Gifts and Gratuities<br />
Policy will be dealt with in accordance with the <strong>Hospital</strong>’s Disciplinary<br />
Procedure.<br />
