support services are delivered in the Health Service. The <strong>Hospital</strong>, in<br />
support of SKILL and as part of this programme, offers staff and<br />
supervisors in support services the opportunity <strong>to</strong> return <strong>to</strong> education<br />
and develop their skills whilst obtaining an accredited certificate from<br />
the Further Education and Training Awards Council (FETAC levels 3, 5<br />
and 6). Further information can be found on the <strong>Hospital</strong> Intranet,<br />
www.skillvec.ie or from the Learning and Development Division of the<br />
HR Department.<br />
Induction: For all Employees, your career here in the <strong>Hospital</strong> starts<br />
with an Induction Programme, whether it is a 3 day Corporate<br />
Induction Programme or a 3 week Nurse Induction Programme. The<br />
aim of the Induction Programme is <strong>to</strong> give an overview and<br />
introduction <strong>to</strong> the Organisation, complete manda<strong>to</strong>ry training<br />
programmes and equip staff with the necessary information that will<br />
allow them <strong>to</strong> settle down quickly and happily.<br />
Following Induction we want <strong>to</strong> ensure that all individuals get the best<br />
possible start here in the <strong>Hospital</strong> and we aim <strong>to</strong> achieve this through<br />
the following:<br />
In-house Training Programmes<br />
A wide range of in-house courses are available <strong>to</strong> all Employees<br />
which are designed <strong>to</strong> develop a number of technical and personal<br />
skills, such as:<br />
• Negotiation and influencing skills.<br />
• Communication skills.<br />
• Personal development.<br />
• Performance management.<br />
• Computer literacy.<br />
