1. Gathering data from documentation.
STANDARD
Working context
• On the basis of data on ship’s characteristics
and navigating conditions.
• Using:
– conventional and electronic charts;
– relevant technical documentation;
– plotting instruments.
Performance criteria
1.1 Precisely define geographical boundaries of
the marine district.
1.2 Correctly list vessel types normally under
way in the marine district.
1.3 Correctly locate concentrations of pleasure
craft and small commercial vessels.
1.4 Approximately forecast their movements.
1.5 Identify areas where spray can cause icing
problems.
1.6 Full report from technical documentation of:
– specific weather conditions by season;
– micro-climates.

certification.
