a secondary fairway.
2.5 Give clear and precise orders.
2.6 Maintain self-control and objectivity.
Performance criteria
3.1 Assess appropriateness of decision to tow
or to be towed.
3.2 Perform manoeuvres appropriate to
narrowness of fairway:
– while under tow;
– while towing.
3.3 Correctly adjust length of tow, taking into
account situation and ship’s position.
3.4 Comply strictly with applicable laws and
regulations.
