1. Planning emergency manoeuvres.<br />
STANDARD<br />
Training environment<br />
• Teamwork<br />
• For emergency situations in the marine<br />
district such as breakdowns, collision,<br />
grounding, fire, taking on water, search<br />
and rescue operations, shipwrecks, man<br />
overboard.<br />
• On the basis of data on:<br />
– type of ship;<br />
– emergency situation;<br />
– ship’s position;<br />
– additional and random factors.<br />
• Using:<br />
– passage plan;<br />
– navigating instruments such as ECDISgenerated<br />
electronic chart;<br />
– emergency procedures in the International<br />
Safety Management Code (ISM).<br />
Performance criteria<br />
1.1 Adapt standard manoeuvres to reflect ship’s<br />
position in the marine district and type of<br />
emergency.<br />
1.2 Meticulously identify high-risk areas in the<br />
marine district.<br />
1.3 Judiciously select times for emergency plan<br />
drills.<br />
