In the classroom:<br />

• for various navigating and emergency situations;<br />

• using technical documentation.<br />

CONTENT<br />

1. Possible emergency situations.<br />

2. Need to prepare emergency orders.<br />

3. Steps bridge watch must take in each<br />

emergency situation.<br />

4. Emergency plans as an integral part of<br />

passage plan as a whole.<br />

SUGGESTED METHODS<br />

Preparing emergency orders was covered in<br />

Module 3. Test candidates’ knowledge and plan<br />

training accordingly.<br />

Instructor<br />

• Discuss with group need to develop orders<br />

for dealing with emergency situations.<br />

• Provide exercises dealing with preparing<br />

emergency orders and instructions regarding<br />

teamwork.<br />

• The instructor can introduce the topic of<br />

emergency orders and, by way of example,<br />

present existing orders used on certain<br />

ships. Authorization to use these orders<br />

should be obtained from the appropriate<br />

sources. Orders prepared by candidates<br />

will be analysed in the classroom.<br />

• Analyse quality of teamwork on the<br />

basis of:<br />

– results achieved in performing task;<br />

– how tasks were performed;<br />

– working atmosphere.<br />
