The Research Board shall meet at least twice a<br />
year and shall report to the Academic Council.<br />
One-third of the total membership shall form<br />
the quorum for the meeting.<br />

The process and schedule of registration shall be prepared and<br />
announced by the University in accordance with the guidelines<br />
given by the Research Board from time to time. The research<br />
degree programme shall be offered by the University in the existing<br />
School of the subject concerned.<br />
The registration to the Research Degree Programme shall be made<br />
every year.<br />
A candidate shall be eligible for admission and registration for<br />
Ph. D. programme provided he/she has:<br />

qualified the Ph.D. entrance test conducted by the University<br />
on the pattern recommended by University<br />
Grants Commission.<br />
qualified the Master’s Degree from any recognised University/Institute<br />
or any other qualification recognised<br />
as equivalent thereto in relevant fields of study.<br />
secured at least 55% marks (50% in case of SC/ST candidates)<br />
in Master’s Degree.<br />

The candidates who have passed UGC/CSIR/JRF Examination,<br />
NET SLET, GATE, or Teacher fellowship or<br />
M. Phil. shall be given preferance in admission to Ph. D.<br />
programme and shall be exempted from appearing in the<br />
Entrance test.<br />
A candidate who has attained the age of 50 years and<br />
does not have a formal academic qualification but shows<br />
ability and interest to pursue the research activity may<br />
also be considered for the research degree programme.
