This leave would be available only to non-academic and nonsupervisory<br />

employees of the University excluding personal staff<br />

of the officer viz. Personal Assistants, Stenographers, etc.<br />

Compensatory (Casual) leave to the extent actually earned shall<br />

be allowed by the Officer competent to sanction casual leave to<br />

the employee concerned subject to the same conditions as are<br />

prescribed for the grant of casual leave.<br />

In case of grant of compensation (casual) leave, no claim of<br />

conveyance charges or extra remuneration shall be admitted for<br />

attendance on Sundays or other holidays.<br />

The compensation casual leave earned during a calendar year can<br />

be availed in the same calendar year.<br />

O.16.48 Special Casual Leave<br />

Special casual leave not counting against ordinary casual leave may be<br />

granted to an employee in the following circumstances:<br />

(i)<br />

When he is ordered by the head of his office to absent himself<br />

from duty on account of presence of infection/diseases in his<br />

house.<br />

Note: - Leave under this head shall not ordinarily be granted for a period<br />

exceeding 21 days but in exceptional cases it may be granted up to 30 days.<br />

When he is summoned to serve as a juror or assessor or to give<br />

evidence before a court as a witness in civil and criminal cases in<br />

which absence is necessary.<br />

When he is bitten by a rabid animal, to cover actual period required<br />

for treatment (14 days) and for journeys to and from the nearest<br />

anti-rabies treatment centre.<br />

When an employee is temporarily incapacitated on account of<br />

typhoid and cholera inoculation, leave for one day.<br />

Special casual leave shall be allowed to employees for undergoing<br />

sterilization operation for a period not exceeding six days for men<br />

and fourteen days for women.<br />

Women employees, who undergo IUCD insertion, shall be granted<br />

special casual leave for one day of insertion.<br />

Special casual leave for a period of 7 days to a male employee<br />

whose wife undergoes a sterilization operation.
