(4) Five members of the Board of Management shall form the quorum for a
meeting of the Board 1 .
(5) The term of office of a nominated member shall be two years 2 .
(6) A Secretary to the Government who is, for any reason, unable to attend any
meeting of the Board as its member, may depute an officer of his department
not below the rank of a Special Secretary/Director of College Education to
attend the meeting 3 .
8. Academic Council
(1) The Academic Council shall consist of the following members, namely:

Vice-Chancellor, ex-officio Chairman;
Pro-Vice-Chancellor;
two Directors of Regional Centres by rotation;
all Professors of the University, two Readers and two Lecturers of
the University by rotation 4 ;
all Conveners of the subject committees constituted by the Board
of Management;
three eminent educationists co-opted by the Academic Council
from outside the University;
one person nominated by the Vice-Chancellor of Indira Gandhi
National Open University;

(3) The Academic Council shall exercise the power and perform the functions
as under:

to supervise the academic policies of the University;
to give directions in matters of instructions, examination, evaluation
and research;
