to consider matters of academic nature on a reference from a School
of Studies or Board of Management and to take appropriate action
thereon;
to take action for improvement in academic standards;
to frame regulations for academic functioning, discipline, admission,
fellowship, fee and other ancillary matters; and
to do any other thing or act as may be prescribed by the statutes.
(4) The term of office of a nominated member shall be two years 1 .
(5) A Secretary to the Government who is, for any reason, unable to attend any
meeting of the Academic Council as its member may depute any officer
subordinate to him to attend such meeting.
9. Planning Board
(1) The planning Board shall consist of the following members, namely 2 -

Vice-Chancellor, ex-officio Chairman;
a nominee of the Board of Management;
Special Secretary (Planning), Government of Rajasthan;
Education Secretary, Government of Rajasthan;
Director, Planning & Development; Vardhaman Mahaveer Open
University, Kota;
one distinguished academic and two persons from other
professions, e.g. industry, agriculture, etc.;
a nominee of Indira Gandhi Nationl Open University, New Delhi;
and
Registrar of the University,Member-Secretary.
(2) The term of office of a nominated member shall be two years 3 .
(3) The Planning Board shall
(a)
(b)
design and formulate appropriate programmes and activities of the
University;
advise the Board of Management and the Academic Council on
any matter which it may deem necessary for fulfilment of the objects
of the University; and
