O.16.57 PROVIDENT FUND AND GRATUITY:<br />
1. Provident Fund: -<br />

There shall be a provident fund for the benefit of the employees of the<br />
University.<br />
Every employee of the University<br />
(a) holding a permanent substantive appointment,<br />
(b) appointment for a fixed period of not less than 3 year, and<br />
(c) appointment on probation<br />
shall be entitled and required to subscribe to the provident fund.<br />
Adhoc employees shall not be so entitled.<br />
2. The management of the provident fund shall vest the Board of Management<br />
which may, from time to time, make regulations or issue such general or special<br />
directions as may be consistent with the rules as to (a) the conduct of business<br />
of the fund (b) any matter relating to the fund, of its management or the privileges<br />
of the depositors not herein expressly provided for or very or cancel any<br />
regulations made or direction given provided that there shall be a provident<br />
Fund Committee Consisting of Registrar, Finance Officer, two members nominated<br />
by the Board of Management and two members to be nominated by the Vice-<br />
Chancellor for the purpose of advising the committee and going directions in<br />
matters relating to investments, payments and other matters in respect of<br />
provident fund.<br />

Conditions of service of teachers and other employees<br />
The term of office of the two members to be appointment by the Board of<br />
Management and two subscribers to the Provident Fund Committee to be<br />
nominated by the Director shall be three years.<br />
3. The contribution of the University to provident fund or interest accruing thereon<br />
shall not be payable in the following cases: -<br />
(a) Persons appointed on probation- if their services terminate before their<br />
confirmation and<br />
(b) Persons appointed temporarily- if their services terminate before completion<br />
of three years continuous service in the University.<br />
4. Every employee of the University entitled to the benefits of the provident fund<br />
shall be required to sign a written declaration in the prescribed form that he/she<br />
has read the rules and agrees to abide by them and shall hand in for registration<br />
in the University Office the names of the person or persons to whom he/she<br />
wishes the balance at his/her credit to be paid in the event of his/her death.<br />
The subscriber may, from time to time, add or change his/her nominee by written<br />
application to the University.<br />
