1 1845 Mrs Berry, sister of Edward Wollstonecraft, died childless.<br />
5 1901 The Prince of Wales Hotel in Junction Street, Nowra, was destroyed<br />
by fire with the loss of two lives.<br />
1 1951 The Berry branch of the Country Womens Association was formed<br />
with 80 ladies present. Mrs E A Clarkson was the first President.<br />
APRIL 12<br />
16 1878 Formal application was made for the conversion of the Greenwell<br />
Point provisional school to a public school. Average attendance was<br />
25.5.<br />

1 1884 Opening of the Wesleyan Church, North Street, Broughton Creek<br />
(later re-named Berry) by Rev. John Walken Brown.<br />
APRIL 14<br />
19 1874 Proclaimation of the Municipality of Ulladulla. It first met on 24 June<br />
1874 at the Milton School of Arts and administered the Ulladulla area<br />
for seventy four years when it was amalgamated into the Shire of<br />
<strong>Shoalhaven</strong> (on 1st July, 1948? - see 29th June).<br />
