9 1959 The <strong>Shoalhaven</strong> Ambulance Serviced received a boost when a twoway<br />
radio system was introduced. It was officially switched on by<br />
Shire Administrator, Keith Hawkshaw.<br />

18 1934 First recorded entry in its passbook account with the Commonwealth<br />
Bank of Australia was made by the Wandandian P & C Association.<br />
It was a deposit of £4/19/2.<br />
1 1935 Re-opening of the Berry Experiment Farm as a branch of the Child<br />
Welfare Development by Hon. D H Drummond, the Minister for<br />
Education. It had originally been the Berry Experiment Farm since<br />
1899.<br />

1 1925 First meeting of the Nowra Girl Guides. Miss Emmie Glanville was<br />
captain.<br />
OCTOBER 14<br />
16 1898 The Berry Central Butter Factory was asked if Jindyandy supplied<br />
pasteurised cream would they pay top market price for the<br />
pasteurised butter. In January the next year the offer was accepted<br />
at half a penny over the best creamery price.<br />
1 1967 The new brick Milton Ulladulla Hospital building was opened by the<br />
Governor, Sir Roden Cutler VC. It cost $500,000.<br />
OCTOBER 15<br />
1 1885 Laying of the foundation stone for the Salvation Army Hall, Nowra, by<br />
W Hanigan.<br />
17 1908 The Governor of NSW, Sir Henry Rawson, visited the Tomerong<br />
School.<br />
1 1926 The School of Arts was opened at Tomerong.<br />

1 1897 Jasper's Brush Public School opened in its new building.<br />
19 1947 The Country Womens Association of NSW formed the Milton District<br />
Branch and held its first meeting. Foundation President was Mrs D<br />
