Bulli Lookout by the Hon. T D Mutch, MLA. The Princes Highway<br />
completed - traverses the <strong>Shoalhaven</strong> from north to south.<br />
5 1973 Prince Phillip visited HMAS Creswell on the occasion of the diamond<br />
jubilee of the establishment of the Royal Australian Naval College.<br />
1979 The Federal Minister for Health, Mr Ralph Hunt, opened the<br />
<strong>Shoalhaven</strong> Nursing Home at Bomaderry. This 80 bed home was<br />
built at a cost of $980,000.<br />
OCTOBER 20<br />
1 1881 The newspaper "Telegraph & <strong>Shoalhaven</strong> Advertiser" changed its<br />
name to the "<strong>Shoalhaven</strong> Telegraph".<br />
OCTOBER 21<br />
16 1823 Mr Justice Field, on viewing Berry's land from Mt. Coolangatta stated<br />
"I'm afraid Mr Berry's lands will hardly repay him for his outlay on<br />
them".<br />
1 & 13 1932 The opening of the Methodist Church, Berry, by the President of the<br />
Methodist Conference, the Rev. H C Foreman, MA.<br />
19 1967 The water supply from Porters Creek Dam, west of Milton, was<br />
turned on by the Hon. P H Morton, MLA. This water supplied both<br />
Milton and Ulladulla and freed these towns from the constant worry<br />
of empty rain water tanks.<br />
OCTOBER 22<br />
17 1979 The City of <strong>Shoalhaven</strong> granted in perpetuity freedom of entry to the<br />
Commanding Officer, Officers and Men of Her Majesty's Australian<br />
Ships Albatross and Creswell. This means that they can enter on<br />
ceremonial occasions with swords drawn, bayonets fixed, drums<br />
beating, bands playing and colours flying.<br />
