NOVEMBER 25<br />
1 1915 Men from Nowra and places south began entering camp at the<br />
Nowra Showground. They were to take part in the Waratahs<br />
"Cooee" recruiting march to Sydney.<br />
19 1919 Opening of the Convent at Conjola. This took place at 2.30pm<br />
despite the fact that a raging bushfire had reached alarming<br />
proportions and the whole mountain to the west of the township was<br />
in flames.<br />
NOVEMBER 26<br />
1 & 13 1959 The new Presbyterian Manse, Berry, was opened.<br />
NOVEMBER 27<br />
1 1901 The Nowra Co-Operative Dairy Company was formed and registered.<br />
It built a factory of timber on the southern side of the <strong>Shoalhaven</strong><br />
River to the west of Bridge Road. It was the diary company that<br />
revolutionised the <strong>Shoalhaven</strong> dairy industry by consigning milk to<br />
the Sydney trade.<br />
1 1907 The first Parents and Citizens Association for Nowra Public School<br />
was formed. Henry Rauch was the first President.<br />
1 1969 The inaugural meeting of the Nowra Rotaract Club was sponsored by<br />
the Nowra Rotary Club.<br />

1 1827 Surveyor Thomas Florance traced a coastal survey from Jervis Bay<br />
to Conjola. From April to June 1828 he named St. Georges Basin,<br />
noted the native name of Bherwherree. His plan showed the narrow<br />
inlet as Sussex Haven, Cudmirrah or Swan Lake and Red Head.<br />
26 1881 Proclaimation of the "Argyle, Camden and King Goldfield" which<br />
included Kangaroo Valley even though not much gold was found in<br />
the Valley.<br />
1 1890 The paper "The Broughton Creek Register, Kangaroo Valley and<br />
South Coast Farmer" became the "Berry Register".<br />
9 1946 The formation of a Ladies Auxiliary to help with the fund raising for<br />
the building of a <strong>Shoalhaven</strong> district hospital at Nowra. Mrs A G<br />
Fraser was the first president. The Nowra Dramatic Society became<br />
