NOVEMBER 25
1 1915 Men from Nowra and places south began entering camp at the
Nowra Showground. They were to take part in the Waratahs
"Cooee" recruiting march to Sydney.
19 1919 Opening of the Convent at Conjola. This took place at 2.30pm
despite the fact that a raging bushfire had reached alarming
proportions and the whole mountain to the west of the township was
in flames.
NOVEMBER 26
1 & 13 1959 The new Presbyterian Manse, Berry, was opened.
NOVEMBER 27
1 1901 The Nowra Co-Operative Dairy Company was formed and registered.
It built a factory of timber on the southern side of the Shoalhaven
River to the west of Bridge Road. It was the diary company that
revolutionised the Shoalhaven dairy industry by consigning milk to
the Sydney trade.
1 1907 The first Parents and Citizens Association for Nowra Public School
was formed. Henry Rauch was the first President.
1 1969 The inaugural meeting of the Nowra Rotaract Club was sponsored by
the Nowra Rotary Club.

1 1827 Surveyor Thomas Florance traced a coastal survey from Jervis Bay
to Conjola. From April to June 1828 he named St. Georges Basin,
noted the native name of Bherwherree. His plan showed the narrow
inlet as Sussex Haven, Cudmirrah or Swan Lake and Red Head.
26 1881 Proclaimation of the "Argyle, Camden and King Goldfield" which
included Kangaroo Valley even though not much gold was found in
the Valley.
1 1890 The paper "The Broughton Creek Register, Kangaroo Valley and
South Coast Farmer" became the "Berry Register".
9 1946 The formation of a Ladies Auxiliary to help with the fund raising for
the building of a Shoalhaven district hospital at Nowra. Mrs A G
Fraser was the first president. The Nowra Dramatic Society became
