13 1934 Laying of the foundation stone for the Church of England Church<br />
hall, Berry by Archbishop Mowll.<br />

1 1856 Opening of the first Church of England at Terara. It cost £700, was<br />
built on land presented by Mrs de Mestre and Mrs de Mestre was the<br />
major contributor.<br />
1 1895 Severest frost ever seen and ice floated down Broughton Creek.<br />
23 1926 The public school at Red Head (now Bendalong) closed for the last<br />
time after being open (on and off) for six years.<br />

1 1788 Captain Weatherhead in the transport "Matilda" discovered a bay<br />
which he named Matilda Bay. The name was not retained. The bay<br />
was independently named "Port Jervis" by Lt Bowen on 18 August<br />
1788.<br />
26 1831 Surveyor Robert Hoddle entered Kangaroo Valley via Meryla Pass.<br />
1 1866 The first ploughing match was held at Whopindilly by the Milton<br />
Agricultural Society. A rifle match followed after lunch.<br />
