It is the s<strong>to</strong>ry of the life of <strong>to</strong>wnspeople, Emeka and his wife,<br />
Nneka, and the conflicts of traditional and modern life that<br />
face people like them in <strong>to</strong>day’s world. As we join Emeka and<br />
Nneka, a party is just ending....<br />

5. JOE: (OFF SLIGHTLY) Thanks, Emeka. Thanks, Nneka. You’ve<br />

7. NNEKA: (CALLING AFTER HIM) We hope you enjoyed yourself.<br />

10. VOICE: (OFF SINGING) For they are jolly good fellows. For they<br />

11. OTHER VOICES JOIN IN THE SONG AND COMPLETE<br />
THE VERSE.<br />
For they are jolly good fellows...and so say<br />
all of us (CHEER).<br />
12. FX. AT END OF SONG GREETINGS ARE EXCHANGED AS<br />
EVERYONE DEPARTS.<br />
13. EMEKA: Waoo....What a party!<br />
14. NNEKA: (LAUGHING) Your colleague Chidi is a real life and soul of<br />
the party. What a load of humor he has.<br />
15. EMEKA: (LAUGHING) I thoroughly enjoyed the one about the old<br />
man who thought the study of animal husbandry meant that<br />
soon men will be marrying animals....<br />
16. THEY BOTH LAUGH<br />
17. NNEKA: (YAWNING) Well, Emeka, I’m going <strong>to</strong> bed now. I’m tired.<br />
18. EMEKA: Me, <strong>to</strong>o. And I hope no one disturbs us <strong>for</strong> a hundred years.<br />
