Library has a well-appreciated membership along with being able to support the reading<br />
requirements of participants of the various training programmes and workshops being<br />
held at the Academy.<br />
The Academy has begun work on several research projects that focus on administrative<br />
procedures, monitor and evaluate implementation of development programmes and<br />
attempts to network among government departments and non-governmental<br />
organisations. Certain projects, such as Functional Review of Administrative Reforms,<br />
Rehabilitation Concerns of Narmada Sarovar Project and Capacity Building of Health<br />
Department among others would require the YASHADA library to be well equipped with<br />
current published and unpublished government documents.<br />
It has been deemed appropriate for the YASHADA Library to be recognised as a<br />
repository library for all such published and unpublished Government Documents. The<br />
material thus received will be separated for restricted and/or unrestricted reading. The<br />
mezzanine floor within the Library will be identified as the location for the repository.<br />
The facility will electronic storage on large databases that can possibly be accessed<br />
through the MahaNET or any other INTRANET / INTERNET facility.<br />
The location the mezzanine floor would also enable the Research and Documentation<br />
Centre, the Centre for Disaster Management and Centre for Environment and<br />
Development to provide programme and project support for the Repository.<br />
The General Administration Department, Government of Maharashtra, has been<br />
identified as the nodal Mantralaya-based Department to facilitate the process.<br />
The various government documents that would need to be received at the YASHADA<br />
Library would include government resolutions (GRs) and orders (GOs), annual reports of<br />
various departments, budget papers, gazette notifications, journals, information brochures<br />
and other relevant published and unpublished material. .<br />
Therefore, the Board of Governors have vide XXXII BoG Minutes Number 87 approved<br />
the proposal to recognise the YASHADA Library as a Repository Library for the<br />
Government of Maharashtra.<br />
The following decisions are now activated with effect from January 22, <strong>2004</strong>.<br />
1. YASHADA Library will now function as a. Repository Library for the<br />
Government of Maharashtra.<br />
