05 Locks and alarm
Alarm (option)
05
Automatic alarm activation
This function prevents you accidentally leaving
the car without the alarm on.
If none of the doors or the tailgate are
opened within two minutes of disarming the
alarm (and the car has been unlocked with
the remote control), the alarm is automatically
rearmed, and the car is locked at the same
time.
Deactivating a triggered alarm
– Press the unlock button on the remote
control or insert the key in the ignition
switch.
Confirmation is given by two short flashes
from the direction indicators.
Alarm signals
When the alarm is triggered, the following
happens:
• A siren sounds for no more than
25 seconds. The siren has its own battery
which is used if the car battery has insufficient
charge or is disconnected.
• The direction indicators flash for five minutes
or until the alarm is deactivated.
Remote control not working
If for some reason the remote control is not
working, the alarm can still be switched off
and the car started as follows:
– Open the driver’s door with the key blade.
The alarm is triggered and the siren
sounds.
– Insert the remote control into the ignition
switch. The alarm is deactivated. The
alarm light flashes rapidly until the ignition
key is turned to position II.
Temporary deactivation of the
deadlocks and detectors
1. Deactivation of the detectors
2. No function
To prevent the alarm being tripped erroneously,
such as during a ferry journey, the
movement and tilt detectors can be temporarily
disengaged.
– Turn the ignition key to position II and then
back to position 0. Remove the key.
– Press button (1). The light in the button is
illuminated until the car is locked.
A message remains on the display as long as
the key remains in the ignition switch (and for
one minute after the key is removed).
The detectors are reactivated the next time
the ignition is switched on.
If the car has deadlocks, these are also reengaged.
