Phone functions (option)<br />

On/Off<br />

A handset appears in the display when the<br />

phone system is active or in standby mode. If<br />

the ignition key is turned to position 0 when<br />

the phone is in one of these mode, the phone<br />

automatically resumes this mode the next<br />

time the key is turned to position I or II.<br />

Activating the phone system<br />

Phone system functions can only be used<br />

when the phone is in active mode.<br />

– Press PHONE.<br />

– Enter the PIN code (if necessary) and<br />

press ENTER.<br />

Deactivating the phone system<br />

No calls can be received when the phone is<br />

deactivated.<br />

– Hold PHONE depressed until the phone is<br />

activated.<br />

Standby<br />

In standby mode, the audio system can be in<br />

use while calls are received. However, it is<br />

not possible to make calls when in standby<br />

mode.<br />

Putting the phone in standby mode<br />

The phone must first be in active mode before<br />

it can be put in standby mode.<br />

– Press PHONE or EXIT.<br />

Activating from standby mode<br />

– Press PHONE.<br />

Making and receiving calls<br />

If the privacy handset is raised when a phone<br />

call is started, the sound will come from the<br />

handsfree system. For information on switching<br />

between privacy handset and handsfree<br />

during a call, see page 223.<br />

To call<br />

– Activate the phone system (if necessary).<br />

– Dial the number or use the phone book,<br />

see page 223.<br />

– Press ENTER or lift the handset. Release<br />

the handset by pressing it down.<br />

Receiving a call<br />

For Auto answer, see menu option 4.3,<br />

page 225.<br />

– Press ENTER or lift the handset. Release<br />

the handset by pressing it down.<br />

Ending a call<br />

– Press EXIT or hang up the handset.<br />

Refusing a call<br />

– Press EXIT.<br />

Call waiting<br />

A two-tone signal during a phone call indicates<br />

that there is another incoming call. Answer<br />

appears on the display. The call can<br />

be refused or taken in the normal manner. If<br />

the incoming call is taken, the previous call is<br />

put on hold.<br />

Putting a call on hold/resuming a call<br />

– Press MENU.<br />

– Scroll to Hold or Hold off and press<br />

ENTER.<br />

Dialling a third party<br />

– Put the call on hold.<br />

– Dial the number of the third party.<br />

Switching between calls<br />

– Press MENU.<br />

– Scroll to Swap and press ENTER.<br />

Starting a conference call<br />

A conference call consists of at least three<br />

parties that can talk to one another. Once a<br />

conference call has been initiated, no more<br />

parties can be connected. All calls are ended<br />

when the conference call is ended.<br />

– Start two phone calls<br />

– Press MENU.<br />

– Scroll to Join and press ENTER.<br />
