Description: Proposed is the reconstruction <strong>of</strong> the<br />

intersection at 100 th Street and NW 54 th Street.<br />

This will be a joint project between the Cities <strong>of</strong><br />

Johnston, Grimes, and <strong>Urbandale</strong>.<br />

Justification: As the volume <strong>of</strong> traffic increases<br />

on 100 th Street and NW 54 th Street, the existing<br />

temporary asphalt paving will deteriorate. (Note,<br />

NW 54 th Street becomes Waterford Road in<br />

<strong>Urbandale</strong>).<br />

Project Status: Plans are in the conceptual stage.<br />

STP Minor Construction funding has been applied<br />

for FY2013.<br />

Effect on Operating Budget: Decrease in<br />

maintenance costs due to the elimination <strong>of</strong> the<br />

asphalt surface.<br />
