Description: Proposed is the construction of the
first two lanes of a future four-lane 142 nd Street.
This project would start at Meredith Drive and
extend to Urbandale’s north corporate limit.
Justification: 142 nd Street is a major arterial for
north/south traffic.
Project Status: The future project is in the
development stage and preliminary plans are not
completed.
Effect on Operating Budget: Decrease in
maintenance costs due to the elimination of the
gravel and asphalt surface and the ditches.
