Description: The <strong>City</strong> <strong>of</strong> Des Moines has<br />
received an ICAAP grant for a traffic signal<br />
interconnect project on Merle Hay Road from<br />
University Avenue to Interstate 35/80. The<br />
section <strong>of</strong> Merle Hay Road from Aurora Avenue<br />
to Sutton Drive is shared with the <strong>City</strong> <strong>of</strong><br />
<strong>Urbandale</strong>. The amount listed as project cost is<br />
<strong>Urbandale</strong>’s share <strong>of</strong> the local contribution for the<br />
project.<br />
Justification: The traffic signal interconnect will<br />
allow improved traffic flow on Merle Hay Road.<br />
Project Status: This project is in the planning<br />
state.<br />
