38. The Saints are served by the
oppressive powers, for (the latter) are
blinded by the Sacred Spirit, so that
they shall think they are assisting a
human when they are serving the
Saints. Because of this, (when¹) a
Disciple one day made request of the
Lord regarding a thing of this world, he
says to him: Request of thy Mother, and
she will give² to thee from what
