5 Set the start time by clicking the calendar icon to open the Select a date and<br />

time dialog box. Choose the start time and click OK.<br />

NOTE If you chose a post‐synchronization event, the start and stop time<br />

options are disabled.<br />

6 If desired, enable the Stop if not completed by option. Set the stop time by<br />

clicking the calendar icon to open the Select a date and time dialog box.<br />

Choose the stop time and click OK.<br />

NOTE Selecting an end time is not required. This allows you to create events<br />

that recur indefinitely.<br />

7 Enable the other update options as desired.<br />

8 Click OK.<br />

When an event is scheduled, it appears in the Device Update Settings List.<br />

Once the event has occurred, it will not automatically be deleted from the<br />

list. If you want to remove an event from the list, you must select it and<br />

click Remove Event.<br />

NOTE Many mobile devices incorporate a sleep function to preserve battery<br />

life. If a device is asleep, you must “wake” it before it can receive a serverinitiated<br />

(pushed) update from <strong>Avalanche</strong>. Wake‐up capability is dependent<br />

on the type of wireless infrastructure you are using and the mobile device<br />

type. Contact your hardware and/or wireless provider for details.<br />

Viewing Mobile Device Server Licensing Messages<br />

The <strong>Avalanche</strong> <strong>Console</strong> receives licensing messages from the Mobile Device<br />

Server. You can view these messages from the dServer Licensing Messages<br />

dialog box. This dialog box provides information about the Server Location<br />

where the Server resides and the licensing message.
