The new user is added to the list in the User Management dialog box. The new account is now available and the user can log on to the Avalanche Console. Creating User Groups In addition to individual user accounts, you can create user groups. Users assigned to a user group will have permissions for all areas associated with that user group in addition to the permissions granted for their individual accounts. For convenience, there are default user groups created, including: • Software Admin • Help Desk • Network Admin These user groups are set with a series of default permissions. You can modify the groups to suit your needs. To create a user group: 1 Click Tools > User Management. The User Management dialog box appears. 2 Click Add. The Add User or Group dialog box appears. 3 Select the User Group option. 4 In the Group Name text box, enter the name of the group. 5 In the Users list, check all users that you want to add to the group. NOTE If you have not added any Normal users, the list box will be empty. Refer to Creating User Accounts on page 44 for information about creating users. 6 You can assign regional and profile permissions by clicking on the tabs now, or an Administrator can modify permissions later.
