Configuring E-mail Settings<br />

When you create an alert profile, you have the option to e‐mail alerts<br />

generated to that profile to an e‐mail account. If you choose to e‐mail alerts,<br />

you must configure <strong>Avalanche</strong> to contact an e‐mail server.<br />

To configure e-mail settings:<br />

1 Click Tools > Preferences.<br />

The Preferences dialog box appears.<br />

2 Select the E‐Mail & HTTP tab.<br />

3 Type the location of the e‐mail server you want <strong>Avalanche</strong> to use in the<br />

E‐Mail Server text box.<br />

4 Select the port <strong>Avalanche</strong> should use when contacting the e‐mail server.<br />

5 Type the <strong>User</strong>name and Password in the text boxes.<br />

6 Type the address the e‐mails will appear from in the From Email text box.<br />

7 Type the address a reply should be forwarded to if an alert e‐mail is<br />

replied to in the Reply‐to Email text box.<br />

8 Click Apply.<br />

9 Click OK to return to the <strong>Avalanche</strong> <strong>Console</strong>.<br />

Configuring HTTP Proxy Settings<br />

If you are using an HTTP proxy for external Web site connections, you can<br />

configure HTTP proxy settings to ensure <strong>Avalanche</strong> can connect.<br />

To configure HTTP proxy settings:<br />

1 Click Tools > Preferences.<br />

The Preferences dialog box appears.<br />

2 Select the E‐Mail & HTTP tab.<br />

3 Enable the Use HTTP Proxy Server checkbox.<br />

4 In the Host text box, type either the IP address or name of the proxy.
