Chapter 69: Surah <strong>al</strong>-Haqqah<br />

In the name of <strong>Al</strong>lah, the Beneficent, the Merciful<br />

(…and that remembering ears (that heard the story) might remember) [69:12].<br />

Abu Bakr <strong>al</strong>-Tamimi informed us> ‘Abd <strong>Al</strong>lah ibn Muhammad ibn Ja‘far> <strong>al</strong>-W<strong>al</strong>id ibn Abban> <strong>al</strong>-‘Abbas<br />

<strong>al</strong>-Duri> Bishr ibn Adam> ‘Abd <strong>Al</strong>lah ibn <strong>al</strong>-Zubayr> S<strong>al</strong>ih ibn Haytham> Buraydah who reported that<br />

the Messenger of <strong>Al</strong>lah, <strong>Al</strong>lah bless him and give him peace, said to ‘<strong>Al</strong>: “<strong>Al</strong>lah has commanded me to<br />

draw you closer to me and not exclude you and that I teach you so that you understand; and <strong>Al</strong>lah has<br />

taken it upon Himself that you understand”, and then this verse was reve<strong>al</strong>ed (and that remembering ears<br />

(that heard the story) might remember). 1<br />
