that human activities are generally c<strong>on</strong>sidered the<br />
primary cause <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> climate change. While no major<br />
variati<strong>on</strong>s show between genders and age groups,<br />
a disparity was noted between different educati<strong>on</strong><br />
levels: while 92% <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> those with university educati<strong>on</strong><br />
thought that climate change was caused by<br />
human activities, <strong>on</strong>ly 80% <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> those below university<br />
level agreed.<br />

4- <str<strong>on</strong>g>Climate</str<strong>on</strong>g> change is a serious problem<br />
for the country <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> my residence.<br />
84% <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> the resp<strong>on</strong>dents thought that climate<br />
change posed a real threat to their country <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> residence.<br />
The highest percentage came from <strong>Arab</strong><br />
countries in Africa (88%) followed by Gulf countries<br />
and the Levant (both 83%). The highest<br />
porti<strong>on</strong>s <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> resp<strong>on</strong>dents who agreed were in<br />
Tunisia (100%) and Morocco (94%), while the<br />
lowest was in Syria (67%). The highest percentage<br />
<str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> those who said that climate change did not<br />
pose a serious problem to their country was in<br />
Syria (27% disagreed and 6% said they did not<br />
know).<br />

Resp<strong>on</strong>dents were asked to choose from am<strong>on</strong>g<br />
six sectors most likely to be affected by climate<br />
change in their country. They could choose any<br />
number <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> sectors. It is significant that zero percent<br />
<str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> participants answered that climate change<br />
had no effect at all <strong>on</strong> their country. At the<br />
regi<strong>on</strong>al level, health came <strong>on</strong> top with 78%, followed<br />
by drinking water 72%, food 69%, coastal<br />
