The climate seems however to be the factor that really explains the differences between countries. It of
course have a large impact on how well people and houses sometimes have to be insulated against the cold.
Additionally it greatly affects what are traditional foods. But in addition countries that have cold winters are
on a higher level than those who do not have it, regarding 9 of the 13 factors which are compared here and
for the other four they have the second highest values (table 11 +12). In all cases where countries with cold
winters takes the first place the second place is held by countries with less cold (but, however) winters.
