D. Integrated Resource Plan<br />

In order to adequately address the effects of energy efficiency measures in the<br />

resource <strong>plan</strong>ning process, the Council directed the Companies to consider these<br />

measures in their Integrated Resource Plan(“IRP”) filing, to review the benefits of<br />

demand side management (“DSM”) within the IRP framework, and to forecast the<br />

projected levels and funding for DSM in comparison with supply side resources. This<br />

resulted in a preferred portfolio of cost effective energy efficiency <strong>program</strong>s, including a<br />

general level of spending and associated savings.<br />

On October 30, 2012, the Companies filed the <strong>Entergy</strong> <strong>New</strong> <strong>Orleans</strong> IRP and<br />

<strong>Entergy</strong> System IRP for a 20 year time horizon ranging from 2012-2031. In settling<br />

upon an optimal portfolio, the IRP considered a wide range of scenarios and energy<br />

efficiency measures. The preferred portfolio identified in the IRP is shown in the table<br />

below.<br />
