You may be entitled to an eye examination or eyesight test at our expense
(and possibly regular future tests). You should speak to your Head of
Department or Supervising College Officer to obtain more information.
We reserve the right to choose the optician used, to specify particular
tests within the eye examination or eyesight test to be conducted, and to
be supplied with the results of such examination or test.
We may also, in certain circumstances, pay for or contribute towards the
cost of obtaining glasses for you to use specifically for DSE work. Again,
further information in respect of this can be obtained from your Head of
Department or Supervising College Officer. You should note that we will
not pay for fancy frames or lenses (including tinted lenses) but, if
appropriate, we may agree to pay a reasonable contribution towards the
cost of these. If your normal glasses are suitable for your DSE work as
well as for other activities, then we will not pay for new or replacement
glasses for you.
