Holidays
Holidays
i.
Our annual leave year runs from 1 January to 31 December.
Full time staff are entitled to 33 days holiday per year, which includes the
8 days Public Holidays listed below. Your entitlement to paid holiday will
be determined by the number of hours or days per week that you are
contracted to work. Your entitlement is detailed in your Statement of Main
Terms and Conditions. Part-time staff will receive the same holiday
entitlement as their full-time counterparts, calculated pro rata on the hours
that are worked compared to the hours worked by full-time staff.
Your entitlement includes Public Holidays, which are:
New Year's Day
Good Friday
Easter Monday
May Day
Spring Bank Holiday
August Bank Holiday
Christmas Day
Boxing Day
You may, however, sometimes be required to work on Public Holidays.

The College may specify the dates on which up to 12 days of your entitlement
must be taken in any given holiday year. Advance notification of any such
dates will be given to you in writing as near to the beginning of the year as
is practical.
If you start or leave our employment during the course of the holiday year,
your holiday entitlement will be calculated on the basis of an annual
entitlement of 33 days. Thus, if you work for six months of one year, your
entitlement would be 16.5 days, irrespective of the number of Public
Holidays that actually occur in that six-month period.
