SECTION 2.5 Pensions TERMS & CONDITIONS i. Members of staff will be entitled to join the College Pension Scheme provided that: • They have successfully completed a probationary period (where applicable); • Are less than 60 years of age; • Are appointed for a period exceeding 26 weeks. Details of the Scheme may be obtained from the College Accountant. Failure on your part to take prompt action to deal with your pension arrangements may result in the loss of benefits which would otherwise be available to you. Pensions ii. iii. iv. If you make a special request to the Bursar, eligibility to join the College Pension Scheme may at our discretion be granted from the date when your employment commences. A contracting-out certificate under the Social Security Pensions Act will be in force in respect of your employment if you are a member of the College Pension Scheme. We will not contribute to any other pension scheme you may have or of which you are a member. 30 S TAFF HANDBOOK
Confidentiality SECTION 2.6 i. In the ordinary course of your employment, you may be exposed to information concerning the College, its Members, Fellows, students, and employees which is confidential or commercially sensitive, which may not be readily available to the general public, and which if disclosed will be liable to cause significant harm to the College or those associated with it. Such information may include but is not limited to the following: TERMS & CONDITIONS • Correspondence; • Information and records whether of a personal, academic, financial, or medical nature; • Academic work, research, and development; • College finances; • Minutes and supporting documents of any meeting of the College, or any committee, or sub-committee. Confidentiality ii. iii. Both during and after your employment with us, you must keep such information confidential, except as required properly to carry out your duties as an employee or as required by the law. Keeping information confidential means that you cannot copy, communicate, show, or otherwise make use of information, in whole or in part, in any way. All confidential information belongs to the College or the individual whom it concerns and must be given back to us or the individual in question if you do not require it to enable you to carry out your duties. In any event, such information and all and any copies, in whatever form, in whole or in part, shall be returned to us or the individual in question on demand and in any event, on termination of your employment for any reason.
