Support for sports<br />

Collaboration with sports federations<br />

In 2014, the Company continued its close collaboration with sports federations. OAO <strong>Gazprom</strong><br />

acts as the principal sponsor of the All-Russian Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation, Volleyball<br />

Federation of Russia, Russian Chess Federation, Russian Biathlon Union, Russian Canoe Federation,<br />

Russian Olympic Committee. The Company also continued to sponsor equestrian sports<br />

events, which sponsorship started in 2011. The Company’s financial support has also contributed<br />

to the success of the annual Nord Stream Race regatta and covered a number of projects run<br />

by the Saint Petersburg Yacht Club.<br />

<strong>Gazprom</strong>’s partnership with UEFA Champions League<br />

<strong>Gazprom</strong> is an official partner of the 2012–2015 UEFA Champion League. This tournament is one<br />

of Europe’s most prestigious and spectacular competitions. The Group’s positioning as the<br />

League’s sponsor is an excellent opportunity to promote its positive image with its European<br />

partners and consumers not only as a global energy company but also as a socially responsible<br />

business. Furthermore, the event provides an excellent platform to highlight advertising and social<br />

responsibility projects through wider media exposure.<br />

Football for Friendship social responsibility project for children<br />

Under the sponsorship contract with the UEFA Champions League, <strong>Gazprom</strong> Group has run Football<br />

for Friendship, an international social responsibility project for children pursued as part of the<br />

<strong>Gazprom</strong> for Children programme. The project aims at promoting friendship between children<br />

from different countries, fostering tolerance and promoting the principles of equality and healthy<br />

lifestyles among children and young people via their love of football. Franz Bekenbauer, a world<br />

football legend, is the project’s Global Ambassador.<br />

Since early 2014, the Company has involved more than 50,000 children and adults from<br />

around the world in the initiatives pursued under the project. These include world football stars,<br />

European national football federations, officials from various countries, and international mass<br />

media.<br />

In 2014, the Second International Children’s Forum held as part of <strong>Gazprom</strong>’s Football for<br />

Friendship global social project took place in Lisbon, Portugal. The event was attended by more<br />

than 450 children and teenagers from 16 European countries: Belarus, Bulgaria, UK, Hungary,<br />

Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Serbia, Slovenia, Turkey, Ukraine,<br />

France, and Croatia.<br />

<strong>Gazprom</strong>’s contribution to the construction of Olympic infrastructure and the use of Olympic<br />

venues after the 22nd Winter Olympics<br />

<strong>Gazprom</strong> Group was actively involved in the construction of new sports, power generation and<br />

tourist facilities in Sochi.<br />

In 2014, the Olympic infrastructure passed the ultimate test of providing the 2014 Winter Olympics<br />

and Paralympics with high quality sports venues and offering a magnificent show to spectators<br />

and sports fans from around the world.<br />

Major facilities included in <strong>Gazprom</strong> Group’s Olympic Programme, such as the Dzhubga —<br />

Lazarevskoye — Sochi gas pipeline, the Adler TPP, a shared skiing and biathlon venue, the mountain<br />

Olympic Village for athletes, a motorway to the top of the Psekhako Ridge, and others, had<br />

been commissioned by 2014.<br />
