<strong>Gazprom</strong> Group also trades in power on European trading platforms. The total power traded<br />
during the reporting year was 339 billion kWh.<br />
Efficiency of operations<br />
In order to increase the shareholder value of its assets, <strong>Gazprom</strong> Group is taking measures to<br />
improve their operating efficiency. OAO Mosenergo, OAO TGC-1 and OAO OGK-2 are conducting<br />
programmes Lean Production, Efficiency, as well as programmes for enhancing shareholder<br />
value, personnel cost optimisation, and upgrading and retrofitting process optimisation.<br />
The following measures provided the greatest benefits in 2014 by value:<br />
— equipment fleet optimisation (OAO OGK-2) — RUB 1,145.2mm;<br />
— measures in the fuel supply department (OAO OGK-2) — RUB 900mm;<br />
— tax optimisation (OAO Mosenergo) — RUB 343mm;<br />
— procurement optimisation (OAO OGK-2) — RUB 334mm;<br />
— reduced consumption of excessive fuel (OAO OGK-2) — RUB 305.9mm;<br />
— sale of non-core assets (OAO TGC-1) — RUB 220mm;<br />
— increasing water utilisation efficiency (OAO TGC-1) — RUB 198mm;<br />
— increasing power generation efficiency (OAO TGC-1) — RUB 171mm;<br />
— investment programme optimization (OAO Mosenergo) — RUB 131mm.<br />
Import substitution<br />
As part of its import substitution efforts, <strong>Gazprom</strong> Group determined the following priorities in the<br />
power industry: automated process management systems, heat insulation, gas turbine maintenance,<br />
upgrade of gas turbines under contracts with Russian producers.<br />
Moreover, the Group is reviewing opportunities to replace equipment made by Western producers<br />
with that produced in Asian countries, particularly in China. A number of Chinese producers<br />
have been approached as part of these measures.<br />
