The Sixth Resolutionon Distribution of the Qur’an Copiesin Hotel RoomsAll Praise be to Almighty Allah.Blessing and peace be on His Prophet Muhammadafter whom there is no prophet, and on all thosewho followed his way of guidance.The Islamic Fiqh Council in its session held on Sunday 16 thRabi Al-Aakhir 1403H reviewed the letter of Sheikh MahmoodSheith Khattab, Member of the Islamic Fiqh Council about thedistribution of the Qur’an copies in hotel rooms, in which he didnot think it appropriate to do so for fear of the Qur’an’s impropertreatment.After having discussion and exchange of views on the issue,the Council decided that it is obviously in the interest of theQur’an that its copies are placed in hotel rooms so that those whocould not see or read the Qur’an, can benefit from it.The Council also recommended to the Secretariat-General ofthe Muslim World League to write a letter to Sheikh MahmoodSheith Khattab, thanking him for his religious concern over theBook of Almighty Allah and informing him about the Council’sview.Chairman, Islamic Fiqh CouncilAbdul Aziz Ibn Abdullah Ibn BazDeputy Chairman, Islamic Fiqh CouncilMuhammad Ali Al-Harkan163
