that organ is a lawful act and it is not against human honour withregard to the person whose organ has been taken. In thetransplant, there is also a great benefit and good support to theperson who needs the organ transplant and this is a legitimate andpraiseworthy work, if the following conditions are there:1. That donation <strong>of</strong> an organ by the donor does not harm him in away that his normal life is disturbed, because the Shari’ah rulestates that any harm must not be removed by another similar ormore serious harm, and in that case, the donation <strong>of</strong> organwould be a suicidal act, which is not permissible in the <strong>Islamic</strong>Shari’ah.2. That donation <strong>of</strong> organ by the donor is voluntary and withoutany compulsion.3. That the organ transplant is the only possible medical optionfor the treatment <strong>of</strong> the needy patient.4. That success <strong>of</strong> the transplant operation is almost certain.Second:The following cases would be permissible in the light <strong>of</strong><strong>Islamic</strong> Shari’ah on priority basis:1. That the organ is taken from a dead human being in order tosave another human being who is in need <strong>of</strong> it, provided thatthe person whose organ is taken, had given his permission for itin his lifetime.2. That the organ is taken from an animal whose meat is lawfulfor eating and it is legally slaughtered or also from otheranimal in case <strong>of</strong> necessity for its transplant into a human beingwho is in need <strong>of</strong> it.200
