The Council also decided that in a situation where thesighting of crescent is prevented due to the clouded sky such asSingapore and other similar regions of Asia, the Muslims shouldfollow those Muslim countries which depend on the sighting ofcrescent without depending on the astronomical calculations inany way, as Allah’s Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him)has been reported as saying: “Observe the fasting on sighting thecrescent and break the fasting on sighting the crescent. If it iscloudy and the sighting of crescent is prevented from you, thencomplete the count of 30.
