2 nd Region:The region that is situated between the latitudes 48 & 66 northand south where some astronomical signs <strong>of</strong> timings are notfound in a number <strong>of</strong> days during the year such as the constantremaining <strong>of</strong> the red twilight till the Fajr time.3 rd Region:The region that is situated on latitude 66 north and south up tothe two poles whereas the obvious signs <strong>of</strong> times in day ornight are not found during long period <strong>of</strong> the year.Fourth:The ruling for the 1 st region is that its residents wouldfollow the regular timings <strong>of</strong> prayer and fasting in accordancewith the religious injections regarding the times <strong>of</strong> prayer andfasting.Fifth:The ruling for the 2 nd region is that the time for Isha and Fajrprayers would be fixed, keeping in view the similar prayers in thenearest region where the signs <strong>of</strong> Isha and Fajr prayers are wellknown. The <strong>Council</strong> suggests 45 latitudes being the nearestregion where the worship is easy in its distinct regular timings.For example, if time <strong>of</strong> Isha prayer at 45 latitudes begins after theone-third <strong>of</strong> night, the same time would be adopted for Ishaprayer in the afore-said region. A similar method would beadopted for the time <strong>of</strong> Fajr prayer in this region.Sixth:The ruling for the 3 rd region is that the times <strong>of</strong> all prayerswould be fixed, keeping in view the prayer times in 45 latitudes.In the region from the 66 latitudes to the poles, the duration <strong>of</strong> 24hours would be divided as it is divided in the region <strong>of</strong> 45255
