contraceptive methods if the intention is fear of poverty, becauseit is Almighty Allah who provides the livelihood and every livingbeing gets its provision from Him, or because such recourse wasadopted due to some other reasons which are not permissible inthe Islamic Shari’ah.As regards the use of contraceptive means or methods ofdelaying the birth in individual cases due to certain harms such aswhen a woman cannot have a normal delivery and she is forcedto have a surgical operation for the delivery, then there is noobjection in the Islamic Shari’ah for such recourse.Likewise, if delaying the birth is due to certain health orother justifiable reasons approved by a trusted Muslim medicalscientist, even such recourse may be necessary in case, harm iscertain to affect the mother and her life is surly in danger on thebasis of a medical report from a trusted Muslim medical scientist.To make a call for birth control or use of contraceptivemethods in general, is not allowed in the Islamic Shari’ah for thereasons mentioned earlier.
