However, technicalsupport for this industry is lacking. Before theintroduction of this Specialist Diploma, thereis no formal training programme in the regionand those who need to learn more must attendcourses/programmes in Europe or USA. Accordingto the market analyst Datamonitor, the globalretail market for fragrances, personal care andcosmetic products in 2009 totalled US$437 billionand is forecast to grow 3.5% per year by 2014.Hence, professionals in the local scene can expectmore developments in the cosmetic industry.This course is a one-year part-time, eveningsonlyprogramme. The curriculum consists of 6modules, with 3 modules conducted in eachsemester.
