The entry requirements for the Mechanical Engineering course are:English Grade 1 - 7Mathematics / Additional Mathematics Grade 1 - 6and One of the following subjects: Grade 1 - 6Biology Design & Technology Physics Science (Physics, Biology)Chemistry Fundamentals of Electronics Science (Chemistry, Biology) Science (Physics, Chemistry)Combined SciencePhysical ScienceNote: CCA cannot be used to meet the minimum entry requirements.1 Applicants must ensure that they do not suffer from colour appreciationdeficiency.2 Applicants must ensure that they do not suffer from hearing deficiency.3 Applicants must ensure that they do not suffer from either colourappreciation deficiency or hearing deficiency.4 Applicants must ensure that they do not suffer from medical conditionssuch as epilepsy. In the interest of general safety, admission of theseapplicants to a particular course is at the discretion of the Polytechnic.5 Applicants suffering from impairments must be prepared to appear forinterviews and to undergo any manual dexterity or aptitude tests.6 The first year of the Biomedical Science course is common and at theend of the first year, students opt for one of the following programmes:Diploma in Biomedical Science (Biomedical Research)Diploma in Biomedical Science (Cardiac Technology)Diploma in Biomedical Science (Medical Technology)7 At the end of the first semester, students will opt for one of the followingcourses (must satisfy the respective course entry requirements):Aeronautical Engineering 3, 4Aerospace Electronics 3, 4Bioengineering 2, 4Clean Energy 3Computer Engineering 5Electrical & Electronic Engineering 1Mechanical Engineering 2, 4Mechatronics and Robotics 2, 4* Applicants offering SPM qualification, must attain a minimum gradeA+ to C / 1 to 6 for their Bahasa Inggeris (1119). This is applicable for allcourses except for the Creative Writing for Television and New Media, andMedia and Communication courses which require a minimum grade A+to A- / 1 to 2.Applicants offering UEC qualification, must attain a minimum grade 6for their English Language.
