Reserved Places for Full-timeNational ServicemenThe tuition grant scheme will also apply toNational Servicemen granted places on areserved basis in previous years. Their tuitiongrants will be suitably adjusted such that theirdirect payment will be the same as that ofother students who entered the <strong>Polytechnic</strong> atthat time.Other Fees Payable (I)Besides the tuition fees, the following fees arealso payable:a. Examination FeesAll students shall pay an examination feeof $32.10 per academic year.b. Students Insurance FeesAll full-time diploma students, exceptSP-SAF students, must participatein the <strong>Polytechnic</strong> Students’ GroupPersonal Accidents Insurance Schemeand are required to pay a fee of $5.00per academic year. The Insurance Fee issubject to change and annual revision.c. Group Hospitalisation andSurgical Insurance (GHSI) FeeInternational students pursuing full-timediploma courses must participate inthe Group & Surgical Insurance (GHSI)Scheme. They are required to pay GHSIfee of $40.00 per academic year. TheGHSI fee is subject to change andannual revision.d. Sports FeeFull-time students shall paysports fee of$25.68 per academic year.e. Students’ Union FeesUnion fees are payable as follows:Entrance feesFor all new Diploma students $5Subscription fees(per academic year)Full-time Diploma students $18Part-time Diploma students $9Freshmen Orientation PacketFull-time Diploma students $16(The Entrance and Subscription fees andFreshmen Orientation Packet are notsubject to GST as the Students’ Unionis not registered with the Comptroller ofGST).f. Miscellaneous FeesAll students shall pay a miscellaneous feeof $14.98 per academic year.g. Statutory Licence Fees (CLASS)All full-time diploma students shall pay$6.42 and part-time diploma studentsshall pay $1.61 per academic year.h. Registration FeeAll students shall pay registration feeof $7 on enrolment. Registration fee issubject to change.i. GSTAll the fees mentioned in this section areinclusive of 7% GST, unless otherwiseindicated. GST rate is subject to revision.j. Fee LiabilityStudents are liable to pay fees if theirofficial withdrawal is after commencementof semester.All components of Other Fees aresubjected to revision every year.Other Fees Payable (II)a. Change in Citizenship StatusUnion fees are payable as follows: Foreignstudents who obtain <strong>Singapore</strong> Citizenshipor Permanent Resident (SPR) status beforethe commencement of each semester willhave their fees adjusted with effect from thatsemester. However, for those who obtaintheir citizenship or SPR status after thecommencement of a semester, will pay thefees for <strong>Singapore</strong>ans / Permanent Residentswith effect from the next semester.
