They will identify and quantifymarket opportunities and plan to start anew enterprise. Topics include opportunityassessment through an environmentalanalysis, marketing propositions, resourcemanagement and a financial feasibility study.This module is intended for those who want tostart their own business or further develop anexisting business.BA0731Audit and AssuranceIntroduces students to the concepts,processes and need for assurance andinternal controls in companies. It allowsstudents to gain knowledge on how togather evidence for audit engagementsand also explores the ethics behind theaccounting profession.BA0732Principles of TaxationProvides students with an understandingof the objectives and types of tax and taxadministration. It explores areas of personalincome tax, capital gains tax, corporate tax aswell as Goods and Services Tax.BA0733Costing and Company LawIntroduces students to the basics of costingand variance analysis, including marginaland absorption costing. Issues of transferpricing between related companies will alsobe covered. Students will also learn the basicconcepts of company law, insolvency lawand also explore the impact of law on theaccounting profession.BA0801StatisticsProvides students with an understanding ofbasic statistics concepts and their relevanceto the business environment.
