In the interest of general safety,admission of these applicants to a particular course is at the discretion of the <strong>Polytechnic</strong>.5 Applicants suffering from impairments must be prepared to appear for interviews and to undergo any manualdexterity or aptitude tests.6 Applicants with colour appreciation deficiency will be required to attend an interview to determine their suitability foradmission to the course.7 Diploma course in Nautical Studies : Year 1 : Pre-Sea Induction @ SPYear 2 : Sea-Training / CorrespondenceYear 3 : Full-Time Studies @ SPApplicants must ensure that they have good eyesight (i.e. visual acuity unaided of 6/60 in both eyes and withvisual aids of 6/6 in the better eye and at least 6/9 in the other eye). Applicants must also not suffer from colourappreciation deficiency. Applicants must show proof of having passed the Maritime and Port Authority of <strong>Singapore</strong>(MPA) Sight Test which is conducted at the <strong>Singapore</strong> <strong>Polytechnic</strong> Optometry Centre or by General Practitioners.All international applicants must be sponsored by a <strong>Singapore</strong> shipping company.
