Robots built herehave done very well in many competitionsheld abroad.Technology Centre forClean EnergyThe Centre, established in 1994, aspiresto be a Centre of Excellence in learningand development of clean energy, energyconservation technology and electrical powersystem. The centre is equipped with a largesolar power station and wind generator toprovide students with a platform on which theycan learn how to design, operate and maintainsolar and wind energy system through handsonexercises. The students can also use thefacility to undertake clean energy-related finalyear student projects.Technology Centre for DigitalSignal ProcessingThe Centre provides the technical resourcesand a conducive environment for staff andstudents to be involved in applied researchand development work in the area of digitalsignal processing.The present research focus of the DSPC is inthe areas of:• Image and video processing• Speech and audio signal processing• Biomedical image and signal processing• Real-time DSP hardware implementationThe centre houses more than 18 PCworkstations, each loaded with simulationsoftware like Labview and MATLAB, andalso hosts numerous DSP imaging anddevelopment systems. An acoustic chamber,which is used in some of the audio projects,is also located at the centre.
